BAKHMARO CUP 2026

With the support of SOCAR, the traditional horse race “Bakhmaro Cup 2026” was held on August 19 at Bakhmaro Resort. The event brought together riders from different regions of Georgia and became one of the highlights of Bakhmaro’s summer season.

The tradition of horse racing in Bakhmaro dates back to the 1930s and, every year on the Feast of the Transfiguration, once again showcases the resort’s historical and cultural significance. Several races were held as part of “Bakhmaro Cup 2026,” including the “Nabeghlavi Cup,” the “Guria Cup,” the “Heroes’ Cup,” and the main race - “Bakhmaro Cup” Marula, covering a distance of 4,800 meters.

The event brought together sporting spectacle, national tradition, local culture, and Bakhmaro’s unique environment. For SOCAR, supporting initiatives of this kind is connected to promoting Georgian traditions, regional events, and national heritage.
